It’s nearing that time again, when the sun stays up all day and air traffic through Iceland increases.
It’s worth noting that when travelling to Iceland, especially during the summertime, we recommend booking your hotels early as the increased traffic in tourism means booking a hotel with too short of a notice can prove difficult on certain days.
We are here to assist and we can offer better prices on many hotels both near the airport and also in Reykjavík, should you choose to stay your nights there.
Few things to have in mind before you stop in Iceland:
- Bring warm clothes, winter season is in full effect.
- Best coffee both sides of the Atlantic and cookies await you at our lounge while you wait.
- Snow or no snow; we’ll guarantee a quick turn-around.
- Relax and enjoy the beautiful weather!
We at South Air Iceland would like to wish everyone happy holidays and season greetings, travel safe and we’ll see you on the new year!
Will you be at EBACE this year? If so drop in at booth G88 where we will be with Avfuel and more friends during the Exhibition. Looking forward to meeting you there!
We at South Air would like to take the opportunity and wish everyone happy holidays and may the joys of the season be with you throughout the year. We thank you for the goodwill and friendship in the year that is now coming to an end and we hope it carries on into many more!
Winter is late in arriving to BIKF, this year has been unusually warm and mild. The first days of December has seen a steady heat of 8 – 10°c.
Yet even though we all wish for a white Christmas and the added brightness the snow brings with it we can’t really complain!
We have arrived in Orlando and will be attending the NBAA from 1.-3. November.
Look for us at booth #2207 with our friends from the AvFuel family!
South Air will be at the Air Ops Europe show in Cannes, France on the 12. & 13. October.
This is the first time this show is being held and we are hoping to see both new and familiar faces in the crowd.
Visit us at booth C-2 and let’s talk!
It has been a busy year for South Air but we are proud to announce that after months of hard work we have finally moved to a new location on BIKF airport!
Early in March we were handed the keys to our new facilities and a month later we were able to start working on renovating the new facility. For three months our staff put in extra hours by working on the new building, stripping it down and re-building from bottom up. With hard work we were able to meet the deadline we set for ourselves and on the 1st of July we opened the new facilities on the Eastern Ramp thanks to the wonderful and talented people in the South Air family.
But what does this mean for our operations? First of all it‘s a bigger terminal with more possibilites. The plan is for the security gate for the Eastern Ramp to be stationed in the same building so we will be the only Airside / Landside FBO in BIKF! The new GA Terminal is more spacious, with multiple lounges for relaxation, conference and V.I.P. lounges. All in all we believe it will be an even better experience for our customers than before.
There is still some work left to do on the outside which will hopefully be finished in the next few weeks.
Drop by in our new GA terminal in Building 810 at any time, we‘ll be there to greet you with a smile, hot cup of coffee and our famous cookie bar.
